Fall 2010 Session: September 7, 2010 – November 12, 2010 |
Greetings students, parents, and friends! Welcome to the first edition of our new monthly school newsletter. Our Fall 2010 session is well underway, and we have plenty of great events in the upcoming weeks. Need a break on Wednesday evenings? Starting October 20th, if you’ve got a song to sing or a piece to play, come down to the Salem School of Music on Wednesdays from 5-7 PM for our new Open Mic Night! It doesn’t matter what you play, we’re just looking for a great group of people who want to share music with one another. Performers will play on our school’s stage, under brand new lights in one of the best sounding venues on the North Shore. We’ll also be recording each performer for a small fee, so that You will soon be able to renew and select your lesson time online. Current students will now have the option to continue taking lessons at their current time, or request to be scheduled at a new time. Students will also be able to place a deposit or pay for lessons in full. Your teacher’s lesson journal will also be available to browse! Check out the new online Student Lounge. Students will receive log-in information in a future email. We love it when our students get together to perform. Because we love it so much, and we know you love it too, we’re holding our first Mini Jam at the Salem School of Music on November 13th. This event will be one of the many Mini Jams to take place in the upcoming months. At each one we’ll spotlight the students of a different teacher, allowing for a smaller and more focused recital for the students. And while all of our students won’t be performing at each Mini Jam, all are invited join us for an afternoon of music, food, and drinks! Our November 13th Mini Jam will feature students of our violin and cello instructor Simon Linn-Gerstein, and our teacher of the month, Steve Peabody. Mark your calendars for our upcoming student/teacher showcase coming December 19 at Abbott Hall. Current students will be receiving a request form for complementary tickets. |
