Strings Program

Private Lessons

The Marblehead/Salem School of Music offers private lessons from classically trained instructors for the violin, viola, and cello.

Students of all ages and musical abilities can benefit from lessons with our instructors. Whether you are an adult student with a prior musical background or the parent of a first time music student, we welcome you to our school.

Live Performance

We believe that the opportunity to perform is an integral part of our students’ education. The opportunities that we offer include seasonal recitals at Abbot Hall and onstage concerts at the Salem School of Music.

Summer String Ensemble

The focus of the String Ensemble is learning fiddle styles from different parts of the world. The class is specifically aimed to teach the critical listening skills that are so important when individuals in a group are playing different parts from one another. Since fiddling is a performance-based style of music, the class gives several informal local performances over 10 weeks.
